Here you will read about myself, and my father. Also the struggle of Northern Ireland and the trauma that has been cast upon
it. But mostly this page will be about my father and the other 9 men who died in 1981 during the hungerstrikes in the H-Blocks.
My name is Shannon O'Callaghan-McCreesh. I was born in Armagh Northern Ireland in 1974. When I was 2 years old my father,
Raymond McCreesh was arrested and charged with being part of the IRA and other various charges. He did not recognize the court
and went straight to the blanket. In 1981 he went on hungerstrike, knowing that he would die for what he believed in. There
were 5 demands..
THE FIVE DEMANDS WERE 1. NO PRISON UNIFORM, 2. NO PRISON WORK, 3. FREE ASSOCIATION, 4. 1 LETTER, 1 PARCEL, 1 VISIT PER
WEEK, AND 5. RESTORATION OF LOST REMISSON.
After 61 days on hungerstrike my father died on May 21st, 1981 at 2:11a.m...
I will always do whatever I have to do to keep his spirit and memory alive. He had a dream of a united Ireland and I will
see that before my time comes..

I know that there are some people who are
against this site and think that I am a fraud. On numurous occasions I have asked them to provide proof to discredit
me, and they have not. For the simple reason that they cannot, because they have no proof. I have been asked to post my birth
certificate, and I am not going to do that for all to see. It is not because I have anything to hide, it is because that is
for me and my fathers family and nobody else. I truly think that I am being critisized by a group of Loyalists, that have
always been against what my father died trying to achieve. And if this is the case, may God have mercy on you. I can forgive
and forget, but when you accuse my mother of being a liar, that draws the line.So as such, I have modified my guestbook. If
you really want to get in touch with me then email me. You might not like me, but respect my father and leave this site alone.
If nothing else all this site is, is a place to pay respect to him and his comrades by telling their story and showing great
pictures of them. So please respect that. Even if you dont respect me. I am taking the high road here, and expect everyone
to act like adults and not reduce themselves to playing petty child games like name calling...
Thank you for everyone who has shown their
respects and have supported me..
~~Shannon McCreesh
